I have a sourdough starter in my fridge. I have a sourdough starter in my fridge because I’m making bread every week. I’m making bread every week, because the bread we have here is not really good, or if it’s good it’s also very expensive. So I choose to make my own bread. To be precise, my own baguette. After all, I live with a Frenchman.
And because I ave a sourdough starter in my fridge, I can actually try out other sourdough recipes. For now my favourite one is the waffle. I usually make them for Sunday morning, and I put some in the freezer for the following week in case the kids want some snack in the afternoon after school. They freeze really well, I put them in the toaster and sprinkle with some cinnamon sugar.
The recipe I use you can find here. I won’t write it out here, I follow what is said on this blog. Instead of buttermilk I use milk with some lemon juice in it, which I leave standing for 20 minutes on the counter. I also leave out sugar sometimes, but it depends on my mood.
Just look at these beauties.
Have fun making them! 🙂
